FAT (Part 1 of 3) - Easy tips for cutting fat out of your diet ⬇️⬇️⬇️
Let’s first start by looking at the nutrition labels when we shop. We need to focus on ONLY 3 things listed on the label (protein🥩, carbohydrates🍚 and fat🥑) rather than the total calories. These are the macronutrients that make up the total calories.
For this post though, I’ll just be focusing on the fats. Avoiding foods with unhealthy fats could help lower your cholesterol and reduce your risk of coronary ♥️artery disease. I know it’s not sexy👯♀️, but the older we get, the more we start thinking about our “Golden 👵🏻Years”. Which are only 20 years away for me YIKES! Making good choices now, could significantly help us to be able to enjoy those Golden👨🏻🦳Years.
Tips for cutting fat from your diet🚫:
❌Stay away from foods high in saturated and trans fats such as fried foods🍟, fatty cuts of meats🥓, snacks and foods with hydrogenated oils🛢.
❌Look for hidden fat. Sweets like donuts🍩, cookies🍪, cakes🥮 and pies 🥧have more fat than sugar calories. Some crackers, chips🍿 and other snack foods can also contain high amounts of fat.
❌Cut back on high fat sauces and toppings such as gravy🥘, salad dressing, sour cream, butter, mayonnaise because they are almost all fat. Even in small amounts, these foods can significantly increase the fat content in your diet.
Try to implement some of these strategies in your next grocery shopping trip. You’ll be amazed at how little changes can really add up!
