FAT (Part 2 of 3) - Easy tips for choosing healthy fats in your diet ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Look for these food items the next time you go grocery shopping:

✅Buy low-fat or fat-free dairy 🧀🥛products instead of full fat. Cottage cheese, yogurt and cheese made from skim milk or reduced fat varieties have the same advantage as the full fat items.

✅Choose low-fat options for sauces and toppings such as low-cal dressing🥗, dressing made with greek yogurt, lite mayo, fat-free gravy, etc.

✅Instead of high-fat snacks and treats, choose fruit 🍎🍌🍇or low-fat frozen treats. Save your donut or slice of pie for your weekly treat meal. When you are selecting a salty snack, look for baked chips, crackers or pretzels🥨. Just look at the label and choose wisely. I prefer staying under 5 grams of fat per serving.

✅Buy meats that are lean such as chicken🐓, turkey🦃, fish🐟 and 90/10 or less beef🥩.

✅Choose healthy fats such as avocados🥑, nut butters 🥜(without excessive sugar), flax seeds, healthy oils such canola, olive or avocado oil. I use spray oil a lot on sheets of roasted vegetables to cut down on fat. Even though some fats may be good for you, you still need to eat them in moderation.

Try to implement some of these strategies in your next grocery shopping trip. You will be amazed at how little changes can really add up!
