Nutrition Tip: Your mama said, eat your fruits and vegetables (Part 2)


Eat your fruits and vegetables-Part 2 of 2. I know this topic isn’t sexy, but most of us were never taught the basics of nutrition. We all learned how to figure out the hypotenuse of a triangle, but we didn’t learn how to properly feed ourselves😂!


Tips for getting in your fruits and veggies:


👉Try to eat at least 5 to 6 servings of fruit 🥭🍊and vegetables 🥕🥬 every day


👉Have a shopping list 📝 ready of the fruits 🍇🍌 and vegetables 🥗🍅 you are willing to eat. Try adding in a few new varieties every week.


👉Prepare ahead of time 🕐 for the week. Cut up fruits 🍎and vegetables 🥒at the beginning of the week so they are easier to grab throughout the week.


👉Start by adding in 1 fistful 🤛of vegetables or 1 cupped handful of fruit every meal. If you eat 5 to 6 meals 🍽 a day, you will get your servings in for the day.


👉Greens 🥦 supplements have become increasingly popular. Greens powders are made from dried fruits and vegetables. Unfortunately, due to the processing method they undergo, they lose some of their nutritional content like fiber. Greens supplements are not a substitute for a well-balanced diet, and cannot completely replace the nutritional benefits you receive from consuming whole foods.


For those of you who do take a supplement daily, doctors agree that it can be a great way to supplement a healthy diet with a boost of vitamins and antioxidants. Just make sure you choose a reputable brand.


👉If you already eat your 5 to 6 servings a day, begin to work on the quality (fresh instead of canned 🥫) and try adding in a few new varieties 🥝🍆every week.
