How to stay motivated when you're not!

Hang in there! Success is right around the corner if you don’t give up! 💪

Nutrition Tip:

How to stay motivated when you’re NOT!

1️⃣ Look for the real reason why you want to eat healthy and workout.

Yes, looking better in the mirror is nice, but most of us have a deeper reason for beginning our fitness journey in the first place.

For me, once I hit 40, I began to see the toll that an unhealthy lifestyle can take on your body. You can make changes today that will affect the quality of your life when you’re in your 60’s and 70’s.

2️⃣ Be okay with being uncomfortable

For most of us, sacrifice does not come naturally. We have to work at.

If you want to change your health, it’s not going to happen by you being unintentional about it. It will take effort and sacrifice. You may have to say no to the office donuts, or adjust your schedule to fit in working out instead of going out with friends.

3️⃣ Make health & fitness part of your daily schedule, a habit, just like brushing your teeth and bathing.

Don’t base your healthy lifestyle decisions on emotions and feelings. If I did that, I would eat donuts all day long, and lay on my couch and binge watch chick-flicks.

4️⃣ Learn from your mistakes

So you have 1 bad day of eating, or you skip your morning workout because you’re in a funk, don’t let that one setback keep you from getting back on track.

5️⃣ It doesn’t matter where you start, it matters THAT you start!

I began my nutrition and fitness journey at age 40. I am 44 now. Had I never started, I would be at the same place I was 4 years ago, or even worse. I just started making small changes daily. All my small changes added up to big changes over the course of 4 years.

If you’re feeling less than motivated today, I challenge you to just start small. Take a tiny step forward to begin your nutrition and fitness journey. You will be amazed at the progress even small changes make over time!
